The purpose of the workshop is to bring together experts on accuracy issues in the numerical solution of eigenvalue problems for four days of research presentations and discussions. This is seventh such workshop. Previous workshops were held in Split (1996), Penn State (1998), Hagen (2000), Split (2002), Hagen (2004) and Penn State (2006). The reports on these workshops by Beresford Parlett were published in SIAM News (Oct 1996, Mar 1999, Jan 2001, Dec 2002 and Nov 2004).

Linear Algebra and its Applications published three special issues related to the workshops: 309/1-3 (2000), 358 (2003), and part of 417/2-3 (2006). SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications published a special issue in Vol. 28/4 (2006) and another one is in preparation.

The workshop will have similar format as its predecessors: there will be no parallel sessions; research presentations will be 30 to 40 minutes each, with sufficient time for discussions. Specially titled discussion/working groups and a poster session will also be organized if necessary.

Venue
Old City of Dubrovnik is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Wokshop will be held at Center for Advanced Academic Studies of the University of Zagreb. The Center is located in a beautiful building with spectacular view near the Old City. The Center has its own dormitory where the accommodation for participants is reserved.
